Transmission Rebuilds in Arlington, TX

At Domestic Drive Line Repair, we specialize in professional transmission rebuilds for GM, Ford, and Ram vehicles. Every transmission is completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and rebuilt in-house using new clutches, steels, bushings, seals, gaskets, molded pistons, and updated components designed to address common factory failure points. We focus on long-term reliability for daily drivers, work trucks, towing vehicles, and fleet applications.

What's Included in a Transmission Rebuild?

At Domestic Drive Line Repair, a transmission rebuild is much more than replacing a few worn parts. Every transmission is completely removed from the vehicle, fully disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, inspected, measured, and rebuilt using quality components and proven upgrades designed to improve reliability and longevity.

During the rebuilding process, every clutch pack is replaced with new friction materials and new steel plates. We install new bushings throughout the transmission to restore proper clearances and fluid control. All seals, gaskets, sealing rings, O-rings, and molded pistons are replaced to help prevent internal pressure leaks that can lead to slipping, harsh shifts, or premature failure.

The torque converter is replaced with a professionally remanufactured unit or upgraded converter depending on the transmission application. The valve body is carefully inspected, vacuum tested when applicable, and updated with the latest available improvements to address common factory failure points. Many rebuilds also receive updated pressure regulator valves, TCC regulator valve upgrades, shift correction components, and TransGo performance and reliability modifications designed to improve shift quality, converter clutch operation, and transmission durability.

The transmission pump is inspected for wear and resurfaced or repaired as necessary to ensure proper hydraulic pressure. Internal hard parts such as drums, planetary gear sets, shafts, sun shells, sprags, bearings, and hubs are carefully inspected and replaced if found to be damaged or outside acceptable specifications.

A new filter and fresh transmission fluid are installed during final assembly. The transmission cooler system is inspected and cleaned, and additional cooling upgrades may be recommended depending on the vehicle's application. Once installed, the transmission is road tested, checked for leaks, monitored with professional diagnostic equipment, and verified for proper shift operation before being returned to the customer.

Our rebuilds are designed to address the root cause of transmission failure rather than providing a temporary repair. Whether your vehicle is used for daily driving, towing, hauling, fleet service, or performance applications, our goal is to provide a dependable transmission that delivers reliable operation for years to come.
